Features

The bars and timers stores actually use

Without the heavy scripts, the jumpy pages or the made-up deadlines.

Announcement bar
Say it at the top of every page

Rotate up to 10 messages with links. Shoppers can close it, it pauses on hover, and it sits at the top or the bottom of the screen.

Free shipping
“You're $17.50 away from free shipping”

A progress bar that reads the cart and updates the moment something is added — in drawers, on the cart page, everywhere — with a clear unlocked state.

Countdown timer
Real deadlines only

Count down to a sale's actual end, or to your daily dispatch cutoff: “Order within 3h 12m to ship today”. Weekends and holidays skipped.

Multi-currency
Right amount in every currency

The threshold converts at Shopify's own exchange rate, or you set a fixed amount per currency to match your market shipping rates.

Fast
No layout shift, tiny script

Bar space is reserved before the page paints, the script is about 6 KB gzipped and deferred, and your storefront never calls our servers.

Scheduling
Set it before the weekend

Start and end bars automatically in your store's timezone (daylight saving handled), target the home page or specific pages, and use custom colours.

Honest urgency

Why we don't do fake timers

A countdown that restarts whenever someone opens the page teaches shoppers not to trust you — and breaks consumer-protection rules in many countries. Here's what Mint Urgency does instead.

FAQ

Questions merchants ask

Do the timers restart for each visitor?

No, never. Mint Urgency doesn't offer “evergreen” timers or fake stock counters. A timer counts down to a date and time you set, or to your real daily order cutoff, and every shopper sees the same time left. When a sale ends, the timer disappears (or shows your “ended” message) — it doesn't start again.

How does the free-shipping bar know what's in the cart?

It reads the cart in the shopper's browser from Shopify's standard /cart.js and listens for cart changes, so it updates when an item is added from a product page, quick-add button or cart drawer. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Which timezone do schedules and cutoffs use?

Your store's timezone from Settings → General. A 2pm cutoff means 2pm where you ship from, for every shopper wherever they are, and daylight-saving changes are handled for you.

Will it slow my store down or make the page jump?

The bars' space is reserved by a tiny inline script before the first paint, so content doesn't jump when they appear. The main script is deferred and about 6 KB gzipped, and bar settings are stored in your store's own metafields — no requests to our servers.

Is it accessible?

Bars are labelled regions with keyboard-reachable controls, rotation pauses on hover and focus and switches off for shoppers who prefer reduced motion, the free-shipping message is announced politely when it changes, and countdowns are announced once a minute rather than every second.

Which themes are supported?

Online Store 2.0 themes, including Shopify's free themes. Switch on the Urgency bars app embed and add the Countdown timer block to your product page — no code to paste.
